Fender 1960 Stratocaster

Description:
This guitar has a bird's eye maple neck with rosewood slab. I am not sure, but I think the body is made of ash. Perhaps someone out there can enlighten me. The guitar body is very light compared to Fenders of today.. so what kind of wood that would make this I am not sure is ash a light wood?. It has a greenish/white pick guard which I understand is available from some collector type dealers for about $400.00 US$+.

Would I sell the guitar?? I am not sure. Many people have told me I would be crazy to especially after you have read this testimonial.

I understand the guitar at present is now worth about $10,000.00+ US and climbing according to the collectors and vintage dealers. Perhaps $10,000.00-US$+ would sway me. Recently I was emailed with information sayong that they are going for around this price on both coasts but less money in central USA. I have been also told that countries like Japan are buying up these vintages at as much as twice the American going prices. I doubt it though.

You have to play this instrument to understand what it has to offer. The neck, fretboard as well as every other part is in perfect condition. Everything is original including every screw. There is a small chip on the pick guard if you look close at the third picture. ( I have the chipped piece!! Just did not have a chance to put it back on.)
